Tunnel story revolves around a person who is an ex army man and the happenings in his life and how he deals with his adversaries who became a thorn in his personal and professional life.
New Cop (Atharvaa Murali) is out to prevent the venomous plans of the leader (Ashwain Kakumanu) a powerful gangster. How the rivalry between police and the gangsters started and what is the background of the cop and what role Lavanya Tripathi played form rest of the developments.
Atharvaa Murali performed well in the role of a honest cop. He showed variations as a happy go lucky youngster and as a sincere police officer. Ashwath Kakamanu got a good role and most of the time, he dominated the protagonist with his intense performance. Lavanya Tripathi is good in her role. Others performed according to their roles.
The songs tuned by Justin Prabhakaran are below average. However He did justice to the narration with his background music. He increased the intensity levels with his background music. Sakthi Saravanan with his Cinematography added value to the scenes. He gave the realistic feel especially to the action sequences. Kalaivanan R's editing left a lot to be desired. There are many drags and this slowed the pace of the narration. Production values are ok.
Altogether, Tunnel turns out to be another done to dust thriller. Ravindra Madhava planned to come with an interesting cop thriller but he failed completely filling it with outdated investigative, romantic and other lackluster elements. He failed with his story, Screenplay and direction. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Tunnel.
