Behind the Movie TDP: More than controversies, there are many dirty factors that made this TDP an awaited flick of the season. Finally, the day has come when audience entered into theatres with Silk Smitha filled in their thoughts. Let us see, how far Vidya Balan fulfilled the expectations?

In the Movie TDP: Reshma (Vidya Balan), a small town girl has a dream of entering into films. Running away to city, she wins an item number in a film after initial hardships. Director Abraham (Emran Hashmi) of this film mercilessly removes the number from final cut of film because he believes Director as the only Hero of a film and none should dominate him.  With help of producer Selva Ganesh (Rajesh Sharma), song finds its place back in film this making Reshma to fall into the eye of Super Star Suryakant (Naseeruddin Shah). Renamed as Silk by Selva Ganesh, the sexy Reshma quickly gains stardom by participating in sexual escapades with Suryakant.

Although week in acting, Silk knows how to throw the net. On the other side, director Abraham faces flops reaching to lowest ebb of career. Here is one sympathizer for Silk in the form of Ramakant (Tusshar Kapoor), a struggling writer and brother of Suryakant. Apparently Silk runs an open affair with Ramakant but walks out from his life due to lack of courage in him. Times when Silk starts loosing her fame, she attempts of becoming a producer, but fails. With severe financial and mental distress takes over, Silk looks for a hand to help. How did the most hated director Abraham rescues her is rest.

Values of the Movie TDP: Only and only name that made this flick come alive and kicking is Vidya Balan. Though there are many other worthwhile performances, it looks as if everyone just supported Silk that is Vidya. Such is the strength in scripting of Rajat Arora and direction of Milan Luthria. The way on which drama is ripened in the film with hardcore pinching dialogues makes TDP, a winner. Same do apply for cinematography of Bobby Singh and hit music of Vishal-Sekhar along with sizzling choreographic excellence. Art work too has done their part very well by establishing the time zone of 1980 in 2011. Ekta Kapoor as producer wins all the praises.

Performance wise, Vidya Balan does it with out a negative remark. She submitted her body and soul to camera and has done everything director asked for and the script demanded for. Vidya is above the levels of flamboyance. Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emran Hashmi have just skinned into the characters given. They were just awesome. All the remaining artists have done their parts well.

Out of the Movie TDP: There is one dialogue in film where in Vidya describes herself as fully marinated Chicken ready to become Tandoori. Yes, the sensuous lady gives every taste a man visualizes about a woman in fantasy world. Vidya become dirtily semi porn exposing her bare back and rounded breasts with low blouses, keeps her sari below the navel and above the thighs. What more can a heroine of Indian film industry do other than this?

First half of the film has laugh and clap worthy situations with exciting scenes penned on Vidya with Naseeruddin, Tusshar and Emran. Second half although gets over dramatic with slight lag yet it picks up again by climax. Resemblances of Vidya Balan’s character with real life of Silk Smitha are to be compared by senior film critics who can give a better answer.

Before that, hats off to director Milan Luthria for bringing this sort of quality entertainment which attracts both front benchers and multiplex audience equally! Commercially TDP will remain as best commercial entertainers of this year. If film making is just about reaping the maximum profits, then this flick is more than a winner. Film might have a long run at BO irrespective of competitive releases waiting in December.
