Raj Tharun made a name for himself ever since his debut, but of late, he is reeling under flips. His upcoming film Chiranjeeva is releasing directly on Aha OTT on 7 November 2025. Let us find out how Raj Tharun entertained movie lovers.
Chiranjeeva's story revolves around a youngster from the lower middle class struggling to meet both ends along with his mother, and what happens when things change after he is met with an accident.
Shiva (Raj Tharun) experiences mysterious happenings in his life after he suffers an accident. What are those mysterious incidents and how it changed his life, and what role his lady love Divya (Kushita Kallapu), MLA Rajayya (Raja Ravindra) and others played form rest of the developments.
Raj Tharun is just in his self as a frustrated youngster who gets blessed with surprising powers. He showed good mannerisms and expressions and impresses with his body language. However he didnot get much scope to show his versatility in acting. After sometime, one gets a feeling that he lost disinterested in the story and just passed through the motions.
Kushitha Kallapu got a key role but it later turned out to be inconsequential. She just appears on and off and got nothing much to do. Raja Ravindra got a typical role to play and he is just ok. Others like Tasty Teja, Emmanuel performed accordingly.
Chiranjeeva story is penned by Abhinaya Krishna (Adhire Abhie). After making a name for himself as a comedian, he decided to test his luck as a director. He tried to come up with a hilarious entertainer, adding a mythological touch.
He starts the hero introduction in a typical way, and curiosity increases with the mythical touch. Then, once again the story assumes a predictable plot, and it continues in a similar way. What comes as a disappointment is that even the comedy scenes did not evoke the required response. The story, screenplay, and direction offered nothing new and it seems the director on debut played an extremely safe game, which in the end backfired completely.
The lack of a strong villain and the protagonist just passing through the motions undid everything. After so many drags and testing scenes, many expected a strong climax. But much to the shock of all, the climax is hurried and one gets a feeling that the film ended abruptly. For all the so called hype, everything turned out to be a hoax.
Achu Rajamani's background score is just ok. He failed to make an impact by elevating the scenes. The editing of Junaid Siddique left a lot to be desired. He could have easily done away with more than 20 minutes of the film. One cannot judge who is at fault. Whether he put his thoughts infront of the director or succumbed to his pressure.
Rakesh S Narayan's Cinematography is average. He showed the scenes as per the budget. Dialogues lacked the novelty. Production values are strictly average.
Altogether, Chiranjeeva turns out to be another run-of-the-mill story. Raj Tharun did what was required of him, but the director Abhinaya Krishna, who made his debut with this film, in his quest to have a lead to the second part, dragged the film with unnecessary scenes and tested the patience of all with illogical narration disappointing everyone especially with the ending. Rework on the story, more fine-tuning of the script and faster screenplay would have helped the film. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2 rating for Chiranjeeva.
