Champion (2025) Movie: Artists Review

Roshan Meka, who made the debut as the full fledged hero with the film came up with impactful and powerful performance.  He looked youthful and cherubic on the screen . He is authentic as a footballer transforming his look and physique for the role. He delivered dialogues with ease and showed variations according to the situation emoting and expressing well showing his acting talent.

Anaswara Rajan performed well in her role making her presence felt in emotional scenes with her expressions and emotions. She looked good on the screen. She dubs for herself and leaves impact in a limited role.

The film featured many actors and Nandamuri Kalyan Chakravarthy makes his return with an important role. But his role could have been more powerful. Same goes with Kay Kay Menon too.

Others like Avantika, Hyper Aadi, Santosh Pratap, Bhavani Neerati, Kruthi Kanj Singh Rathoda, Edward Sonnenblick did justice to their roles. Prakash Raj, Vennela Kishore, Kovai Sarala, Harshwardhan played key roles bringing their experience.

Champion (2025) Movie: Technicians Review

Champion story is penned by Pradeep Advaitham who won national award for his short film Advaitham. He came up with a sports based entertainer in the backdrop of pre Independence era to capture the imagination of all. Many sports based films came in Telugu but none touched the backdrop of football. They dealt with cricket, kabaddi and even rugby.

Pradeep Advaitham deserves credit to think something out of the box. He starts the narration in an interesting manner establishing Nizam decision to merge with Pakistan and Indian Government delaying its action.

The blend of historical backdrop and fictional elements works well. The war sequences, especially the interval block and the pre-climax, are well executed. The emotional moments are handled well, aided by well placed songs that add depth to the narrative. The second half goes off track with monotonous elements.  But with rich technicalities the film hold the attention of viewers and get back on track towards the pre climax and climax. he director tried to connect chords with telangana sentiment highlighting the fight against the Razakars effectively.

Madhie's cinematography is captivating. He showed the scenes in a natural and realistic manner. He used the pre Independence era scenes in an authentic manner. The football scenes are shown in an effective manner connecting chords with the viewers.

Mickey J Meyer with his background score added value to the narration. He elevated the scenes carrying viewers into the storyline with the music and also built  tension with his background score during the football matches. The songs are situational and are placed in such a way that they do not impact the flow of the narration. The songs are shot in an appealing manner.

Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing is ok but there are few scenes that slowed the pace of the narration. The lengthy runtime turned out to be an issue for the film. Dialogues are powerful and effective at times.

Production values of Swapna Cinema, Zee Studios, Anandi Art Creations, Concept Films are grand.

Champion (2025) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Champion turns out to be a decent outing with strong technical values and neat blend of historic events with fictional elements.. Pradeep Advaitham, came up with a captivating and challenging subject, handles it competently. His and Roshan Meka's hard work is visible through out the film. Though a stronger emotional grip could have elevated the film further. Champion is a sincere attempt of depicting period war drama based on true event that blends sports with history in an engaging manner. Even though the film falters in emotional depth at places, its strong performances, technical finesse, and rich production values make it a watchable theatrical experience. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Champion.
