Hyderabad, Nov 12: The members of Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors' Association on Thursday threatened to exlarge their ongoing stir by spreading it across the state as the talks between the government authorities and their members remained inconclusive on Wednesday night.The talks between Principal Secretary (Health and Medical) J Satyanarayana and members of Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors Association which continued till late on Wednesday night failed to yield any positive result with both the parties refusing to relent.With no solution in sight, the Junior Doctors threatened to intensify their agitation from Thursday for enhancement of stipend in all the 10 government teaching hospitals.

The Junior Doctors boycotted 'Arogyasri'-related medical duties and out-patient wards at all the government teaching hospitals but attended emergency services.The agitating doctors said a post-graduate medico working at a government hospital gets a stipend of about Rs 8,000 and a house-surgeon Rs 5,000 per month.The medicos pointed out that their counterparts in Gujarat, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu draw triple that amount and demanded that their stipend be increased forthwith.
