Hyderabad, Nov 12: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) which raided the residence of Harshavardhan, Chief Secretary, Welfare Department (Backward classes), at Rajendranagar on Thursday found assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.The ACB unearthed assets worth Rs 7 crore during the raid on his residence. ACB officials lodged cases against Harshavardhan under the Anti-Corruption Act on the basis of the search.

The ACB team, headed by a deputy superintendent of police, began the searches in the morning following a tip-off about Harsha’s assets. The ACB officials found documents relating to houses, flats, jewellery and bank balance. Sources in ACB said the raids were continuing till the afternoon and his bank accounts and details of the lockers were being verified by the officials.They said the Chief Secretary also owned farm land besides landed property. They were expecting to unearth more assets during the course of the investigations.Harsha was promoted as IAS officer only a day before and appointed as Urban and Land Ceiling Special Collector, Guntur.
