Hyderabad, July 22:-

A well-marked low pressure area got formed in north-western Bay of Bengal on Wednesday brightening the prospects of the early onset of the south-west monsoon in the State. It is likely to intensify into a depression.

Andhra Pradesh is likely to benefit from the weather system as it is moving towards Tamil Nadu. However, north Coastal districts in the State received rainfall of up to 4 cm each due to local weather developments.

With south-west monsoon reaching several districts of the State on Tuesday, people enjoyed cloudy weather at many places and farmers rejoiced arrival of monsoon in the nick of time.

“Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into remaining parts of the State during next two to three days,” a bulletin released by India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The Telangana will get widespread rains with heavy to rather very heavy falls, a bulletin released by IMD said.

Seeing the extremely dry season, most of the farmers in coastal districts had delayed their agricultural work and waited for arrival of monsoon.

As crucial one month time had been lost from kharif season, State Agricultural Department has asked farmers to go for short and medium variety of paddy.

Meanwhile, the monsoon over the State remained active. Many places in the State, however, received heavy rainfall.
