Mysore, Oct 9 :

 In response to the call given by the Chief Minister, Mr B S Yeddyurappa, to provide permanent accommodation to three lakh people, whose houses were collapsed in the flash floods, the Mysore City Forum (MCF) has come forward to construct 5,000 houses at a cost of Rs 50 crore and the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) would be constructing 100 houses at a cost of Rs 1 crore. The MCC mayor, Mr Purushotham, has handed over the cheque for Rs 1 crore on Friday to the District Incharge Minister, Ms Shobha Karandlaje during padayatra and the MCF chief, Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Sutur Mutt, said that it has already made the commitment and the information has been conveyed to Mr Yeddyurappa.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) has announced a donation of Rs 5 lakh and MyLac also contributed Rs 5 lakh for the cause.
