Many who were part of the trailer launch of the cyber-thriller Mosagallu saw a transformed Vishnu Manchu during the media interaction. The actor-producer looked composed and matured in his body language and spoke quite practically. All those years of taking a break from the industry and the introspection of his choices seem to have done him a world of good. He’s admitted to having gone way above his market to shape up Mosagallu and spoke at length about the real-life incident that inspired the film.

“The film is about a Gujarat-based brother-sister duo responsible for a Rs 4000-crore worth international scam that almost brought an end to the call centre industry in a country. They never broke the rules in India and the US and still managed to dupe corporates. The livelihood of so many families in the US was threatened because of this. Where did they keep the money? How did they get caught? We interacted with several cops in Mumbai for the film to treat the subject very realistically,” he added about the film that will release on March 11.

The shoot of Mosagallu was completed days before the lockdown in March 2020. Two major celebrities, Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh, went out of the way to help Vishnu with the trailer launch and the film voice-over respectively. US-based Jeffrey Gee Chin has directed Mosagallu, while Vishnu, Kajal, Suniel Shetty, Ruhi Singh play key roles in the project that was initially planned as a Hollywood release. To keep a lid on the budget, they had to make an Indian version simultaneously, for which writer-turned-director Diamond Ratna Babu provided inputs. Vishnu Manchu, a year ago, had also produced a web show titled Chadarangam.
