One cannot say this much time is needed for the completion of a project but experienced people in the film industry say it is a waste of time to spend more than six months for the completion of a film. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has been doing 3-4 films every year. In Hollywood also except for high profile films like Avatar and Titanic, all the films are getting completed in a short time.

However, Tollywood Stars are taking their own time and they are consuming a minimum one to one and a half year time for each project. They are making directors wait for two years. Due to this, no one is gaining but instead, Tollywood is incurring huge losses.

During the olden days when technology was not there, top Stars and directors used to entertain movie lovers with 5-6 films. ANR, NTR, Krishna, and all top Stars used to do it. Wonder why the current generation is unable to do it?

In 1977, NTR did six films of which three turned out to be blockbusters. They included Dana Veera Soora Karna, Yama Gopla, and Adavi Ramudu. Apart from it NTR teamed with ANR for Chanakya Chandragupta. NTR directed two of those films and they are Dana Veera Soora Karna and Chanakya Chandragupta.

Genex Stars if they have to do similar kinds of films, would take 3-4 years. They come up with excuses like For Yama Gola one should have Yamalokam, Martsya Lokam, Patala Lokam, Suvarlokam sets, need four studios, should have global studios to work on VFX and take 5 years for Yama Gola.

NTR did three classical films of the six and none of them are of a similar genre. When he could do it, why couldn't current generation Stars? The advent of technology should fasten the process not delay it.

Megastar Chiranajeevi also used to complete his films at rapid pace. Even now, he is planning to do at least one film in a calendar year.

Nonetheless, current generation Stars and directors who have been consuming years for the completion of projects are not coming up with classics or blockbusters. The success rate is less than 15% and even for that, they are doing such hungama.

Now corona gave a huge shock and everyone is at loss as to what to do in the future. People are saying top Stars and directors shouldn't consume more time for their projects and instead use technology to wrap shootings at a quick time. Will they realize the value of time at least now?
