For the last couple of weeks, reports have been doing the rounds about the star to play extended cameo in Megastar Chiranjeevi's ongoing film Acharya being helmed by Koratala Siva. The role was initially destined for Ram Charan who too showed interest but had to say no as his RRR director SS Rajamouli didn't want him to do any other film, until he wraps up his part of work.

Since Charan couldn't take up the role, Koratala suggested his good friend Mahesh Babu’s name for the role and Chiru too gave his nod. Mahesh Babu too was impressed with his role and the script. But, he all of the sudden opted out of the film. Then, what went wrong between Mahesh Babu and makers of Acharya.

As per reliable sources, remuneration is the exact reason behind Mahesh Babu walking out of the film. While producers offered 15 Cr pay, Mahesh Babu demanded double the pay (30 Cr) for 30 days call sheets.

Shaken with Mahesh Babu’s huge demand, Chiru decided to rope in Ram Charan for the role. In fact, he has told his director not to worry about the delay. Going by the developments, Acharya may not release on scheduled date of August 15th.
