Superstar Rajinikanth in a press meet today said he has no interest in being Tamil Nadu's chief minister, and prefers to remain the head of his prospective party. “I can't think of becoming chief minister, a strong party leader will head the state. I only want change in politics,” he explains.

"Two power centers will not cause confusion. The party leader must be like opposition leader and question the chief minister. Leader of the ruling party and the CM has to be different. The party leader must guide on the ideology. And the CM is like CEO," said he who apparently prefers to be a kingmaker in TN politics.

Interestingly, Rajinikanth did not unveil name of his political party, or reveal the date of its launch. He, however, requested retired IPS and IAS officers to enter politics. “There will be different heads for the party and the possible government headed by it,” says he.

Assembly elections due in Tamil Nadu next year are still largely seen as a contest between the ruling AIADMK and the opposition DMK party. Rajinikanth has said he, too, will be in the fray.
