Ram Gopal Varma's Lakshmi's NTR is facing a lot of hurdles ahead of the film’s release on March 29th due to the controversies associated with it. It is known that P Mophan from Chittor district, lodged a complaint against the film on March 24 to the Election Commission accusing the makers of screening the film's promos, political statements violating the Election code without getting the permission from Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC). He even included the proofs for the violation of code by the makers of Lakshmi's NTR.

Following this, Election Commission sent notices to producer Rakesh Reddy on March 15 and on March 17 once again. After going through the replies sent by Rakesh Reddy on whatsapp and going through the complaint, State chief Election Officer Gopal Krishna Diwedi directed producer Rakesh Reddy to arrange for the special preview of Lakshmi's NTR on Monday morning at 11.20 AM in front of the MCMC. He said after watching the film final decision will be taken.
