Tollywood Vs Bollywood: Scene Reversed

For last few years, movie buffs witnessed Telugu films domination on Bollywood Films. Many Telugu films performed far better to super hit Hindi movies in 2017 and 2018. But, in 2019, the scene has been reversed with Bollywood Films showing their power and Telugu films bombing at box office.

Except for Venkatesh and Varun Tej starrer F2- Fun And Frustration, none of the Telugu films attained super hit status this year, though Kalyan Ram’s 118 is turning out to be an above average grosser. Sankranthi attractions like NTR Kathanayakudu and Vinaya Vidheya Rama ended as debacles.

Mr Majnu, Yatra and NTR Mahanayakudu which released after Sankranthi season botched to impress Telugu audience. All the small to medium range films released in this month have also got lukewarm response. Trade circles are hoping that at least few of summer attractions would shine at box office.

On the flip side, Bollywood delivered numerous hits this year. Uri: The Surgical Strike, Gully Boy, Total Dhamaal, Luka Chuppi, recently Badla and Kesari have set cash registers ringing. Few other films like The Accidental Prime Minister, Thackeray, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga have turned out as average to above average grosser.

The success ratio is very impressive in Bollywood, wherein we need to wait for some more time to witness second hit in this year.
