Ever since the sensation of Ram Charan's Rangasthalam directed by Sukumar many Tollywood stars dreamed of having their own Rangasthalam moment. When Mahesh Babu gave green signal to Sukumar, his fans got super excited that Mahesh will have his Rangasthalam moment.
However Mahesh shelved the project citing creative differences though he told two stories one in Razakars backdrop and another in red-sanders smugglers. Sources say Sukumar was hellbent on doing a film showing Mahesh as Telangana warrior taking on razakars under Nizam rule but Mahesh felt that it may hurt the feelings of muslims and also rejected saying since Mega Star Chiranjeevi is doing a film Sye Raa on freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, he felt that movie lovers may get bored.
Now inside talk is Allu Arjun right from the moment he got the shock in form of Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India, dreamed of having Rangasthalam moment and sent feelers to Sukumar. He at once entered the scene and roped in Sukumar for his 20th.
Buzz is Allu Arjun loved Sukumar's story on red-sanders smuggling and it also has a love story in the lines of Rangasthalam.
