Sye Raa Remembers His Martyrdom

A biopic of the unsung freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, directed by Surender Reddy, is being made in Telugu, with mega star Chiranjeevi playing the role of Reddy. Today, makers of the film have remembered martyrdom of Narasimha Reddy.

They released a poster which quotes, “Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, the man who lit the fire of our freedom fight struggle. Remembering him on the day of his martyrdom- Team Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.”

British hanged Narasimha Reddy on 22 February 1847. His head was kept hung in the fort on the gibbet till 1877, when the scaffold falling into decay, it was not thought necessary to repair it.

Apart from Chiranjeevi, a bevy of stars from different film industries including Amitabh Bachchan, who plays Gosayi Venkanna, find a place in the movie. The movie also has Vijay Sethupathi, Nayantara, Tamannaah, Jagapathi Babu, Kiccha Sudeep, Pragya Jaiswal and Brahmaji.

Sye Raa is scheduled for Dussehra release.
