YSR Biopic Yatra Not Getting Buyers

The trailer of Mammootty's Yatra released yesterday gave a sneak peek into the events that caused late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy to go on the historic Padyatra that he embarked on in 2003, covering a distance of 1,475 km. It was a turning point not only in YSR’s political career but also in Andhra Pradesh politics.

Yatra trailer actually received mixed response as it was full of falsehood. In the video, Rajasekhar was seen as disloyal to Congress High Command. But, the fact is he was one of the biggest devoted Congress leaders who always obliged Party resolutions.

Curiously, Yatra is unable to generate hype and makers are incapable to sell theatrical rights. Though the film was made on limited budget and producers are demanding reasonable prices, buyers are not really interested to buy the rights. This is bringing shivers to producers who already postponed the film’s outing once and have announced February 8th as new release date.

On the same week on February 7th, NTR Mahanayakudu, second installment of NTR Biopic starring Nandamuri Balakrishna will be hitting the screens. And this is the other reason which is keeping buyers away from the Mahi V Raghav directorial.

If Yatra makers fails to find buyers by the end of this month, they would take the risk to release the film on own in several areas.
