Controversial Producers Costliest Films

Producers of Lyca Productions were in news during the making of their first venture Kaththi staring Vijay and directed by Ar Murugadoss. The producers were alleged to have links with former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The film made on lavish budget had ended as biggest earner in Vijay’s career then.

Post that, Lyca Production have become care of address for high budget entertainers. They later produced lavish entertainers like Mani Ratnam’s multi starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (Nawaab in Telugu), Rajinikanth - Shankar’s 2.0. They spent nearly 500 crores on the visual extravaganza which couldn’t recover the full investment.

Lyca Productions is presently producing two upcoming entertainers- Simbhu-Sundar C’s Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven (Attarintiki Daredi) and Suriya-KV Anand’s Kaappan. Both the films are touted to be highest budgeted ventures for respective heroes.

Especially, the producers are said to be investing big on Suriya’s film which is his third time collaboration with the director.

Despite results of their films, the producers are lining up to make lavish and costliest ventures.
