Tollywood recorded around 20 hits including averages this year while rest of the films had to suffer losses. The percentage of hits is consistent in comparison with the previous years. 

Well, Mega Power Star Ram Charan's Rangasthalam has unanimously been declared the movie of the year, 2018. Not only has the movie set new records, but also was it lauded by critics for its brilliant make by Sukumar. Mega Power Star has completely been transformed as a village lad in Chittibabu role and so was Samantha. All other actors, musician Devi Sri Prasad and other technicians gave their best inputs to the film that led the movie one of the all time classics of Tollywood. The film was made as a period entertainer with 1980's backdrop. Rangasthalam's success encouraged other filmmakers to bankroll more number of period entertainers with different concepts.

And then, youth crazy hero Vijay Devarakonda's Geetha Govindam earned four times more profits than its investment and stood as one of the blockbusters of the years. Keerthy Suresh's Mahanai, RX 100, Goodhachari, Bhagamathie, Tholiprema, Chalo, Jai Simha, KGF (dubbing) turned as solid hits while Bharat Ane Nenu, Aravinda Sametha, Awe, Sammohanam turned as either averages or above averages.
