Former Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal is considered to be a good psephologist and is nicknamed as Andhra Octopus for his outstanding political surveys which were proved right in almost all the cases.
In the wake of Telangana elections which are scheduled on December 7, Lagadapati appeared in media and divulged his survey reports. He said peoples' pulse is in favour of Praja Kootami headed by Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI's leaders.
Lagadapati, furthermore, disclosed the names of five independent candidates whom he said they would get victories in the poll battle. Lagadapati's survey report says Praja Kootami will take a lead in four districts, TRS in three districts and there will be a tug of war situation in two districts. He said Hyderabad will be dominated by MIM with half of the seats while remaining half will be shared by TRS, Congress and BJP.
Well, Lagadapati's survey could have been trusted, had he not been in touch with any political party. Sadly, Lagadapati, this time, collaborated with TDP on caste grounds and was alleged to have done a fake survey.
Lagadapati met TDP's head and AP's CM Chandrababu Naidu at Amaravati frequently in recent times. Moreover, his survey details were telecast live by a CBN channel which was recently alleged to have benefited Rs.700 crores from TDP's government.
If at all Lagadapati's survey is proved right, he can keep his credibility on his surveys safe. If not, his survey impact would affect his prospects in AP general elections. If at all, he comes up with any political survey on the status of AP's political parties in 2019, there would be no takers for him.
