Deverakonda Failed, What About Vijay?

Currently it is the trend of political thrillers in Tollywood. Recently, Vijay Deverakonda tested his luck in Kollywood with a political drama NOTA which bombed miserably in Telugu as well as Tamil. The film couldn’t even recover half of its budget.

Now, Tamil hero Vijay is coming up with a political entertainer Sarkar directed by AR Murugadoss. Although the director delivered a flop with his last movie Spyder, he has excellent track record with his association with Vijay.

Like how NOTA faced controversies prior to its release, Sarkar too is facing disagreements. An upcoming writer Varun Rajendran filed a petition against Murugadoss claiming the director copied his story. Nevertheless, the issue was sorted out peacefully.

Sarkar has done humongous pre-release business which is higher than what Vijay’s last movie Mersal collected at box office. It is certain that the film will open big in all the southern states, it can recover the investments, only if it receives positive talk post release.

Sarkar story revolves around a corporate bigwig who comes to Tamil Nadu to cleanse the political system of corruption. It has to be seen how this film is going to help Vijay who is willing to enter politics.
