Going by the buzz in film circles, director Sukumar is forced to deviate from original script as Samantha seriously said no to intimate romance with Ramcharan.

As we know, Sukumar is a straight forward film maker who goes strictly by script demands. If situations demand an item song, he goes for it and if context needs a romantic kiss between hero and heroine, he proceeds on with co-operation from artists.

Same is said to be the case with Rangasthalam 1985 where endearment between Charan and Sam called in for a mandatory lip lock. It is understood that Samantha did not accept to act in this intimate scene and suggested Sukumar to use glass technique which is generally used to picturize kissing scenes without having any physical contact between the ead pair.

For example, Suriya and Kajal’s lip lock in Brothers is shot with the same technique using green mat.

With outright rejection to Rangasthalam kiss scene, Samantha sent a strong message to producers and directors not to expect any such stuff from her in future before taking the casting call.

While Mega Fans would be disappointed with this, Akkineni admirers are surely to feel proud of their daughter-in-law.
