CM KCR conducts whirlwind inspection of irrigation projects

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has said that the aim and target of the Government is to complete all the irrigation projects meant for providing water to the agriculture sector at the earliest.

The Chief Minister has instructed the officials concerned and work agencies to work in three shifts to complete the barrages, sub stations, pump houses and canal works simultaneously.

KCR visited the project sites and examined the works on Thursday. The Chief Minister, along with the public representatives, left in the morning in two helicopters and inspected Tupakulagudem Barrage, Medigadda Barrage, Kannepally Pump House, Annaram Barrage, Siripuram Barrage till afternoon and interacted with the officials and representatives of the working agencies on the works position.

The Chief Minister assured that the government was ready to extend cooperation for the construction of the projects. He has enquired with the officials on the flow of the floodwater in Godavari at Toopakula Gudem. The officials replied that it is now 6000 Cusecs. The officials said that 1132 Meters of Cofferdam works are over and the remaining 150 Mts will be completed. The CM asked DGP Mahender Reddy to speak to the police officials in the neighbouring States on the issues. The DGP informed the Chief Minister that by using drones the construction works were being supervised and security measures have been taken. The Chief Minister wanted the roads needed for the projects should be completed on fast track. He wanted the officials and working agencies to keep in mind that the Government’s resolve to complete all the irrigation projects in the state and work accordingly.
