The jury committees of Nandi awards appointed by the TDP government were alleged to have shown extreme bias in selecting the award winners. Breaking all the conventions, they themselves, conducted press meets and defended why they adjudged those awards.

While one of the jury chairmen Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna is holding the responsibilities as a TDP's MLA from Hindupur constituency, another chairperson Jeevitha indulged in immense flattery on TDP government and proclaimed that she would join TDP if the party makes an invitation.

On the other hand, cine celebs like Bunny Vas, Gunasekhar, Nallamalupu Bujji and others who expected awards for their films expressed their grief with the biased awards. Moreover, they smelt a rat if caste factors were involved in announcing awards. To defend their argument they showed the lists of one particular caste's jury and award winners.

In the meanwhile, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh were on damage control mode. "Had we known such controversy was embroiled, we would have ensured IVRS survey done to select the winners. It's not fair TDP was alleged showing caste bias," says CBN. Nara Lokesh said, 'Those who hadn't got Aadhar cards and voter cards criticized us".

But then, political analysts are laughing at the defence of the father and the son. According to them, TDP, itself, inflluenced the Nandi jury giving winners list to them. Had CBN been that genuine and honest, he wouldn't let Balakrishna and other TDP supporters appointed as Nandi jury chairman and members. On the other hand, in spite of having no Aadhar and voter ID, Nara Lokesh campaigned for TDP's victory in Telangana by-polls. If he feels non locals shouldn't agitate for awards, he shouldn't have criticized TRS government during his election campaigning in Telangana," they reckoned.
