Jaya Janaki Nayaka Inspired From Mahesh Babu Okkadu

Okkadu starring Mahesh Babu in Gunasekhar direction was a smashing hit few years back. Looks like, Jaya Janaki Nayaka starring Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles directed by Boyapati Sreenu is traveling on the same lines.

From the first look teasers and audio single released till date, one news started circulating around Film Nagar is that Jaya Janaki Nayaka happens to be Boyapati Sreenu’s version of yesteryear’s Mahesh Babu’s cult Okkadu.

Protagonist Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas character is said to be inspired from Mahesh Babu’s role in Okkadu where a boy fights for girl against all odds with a sensible love passing as under thread. If Bhumika was the girl for Mahesh, it’s Rakul for Sai.

We all know how Okkadu changed Mahesh Babu’s career and bought him to spot light. In the same way, we can speculate Jaya Janaki Nayaka to be a game changer for Bellamkonda Sai who is desperately looking out for a block buster hit. With Boyapati Sreenu at the helm of affairs, Bellamkonda hero is assured of enjoying a much needed break. 

What needs to be really surprising is, how JJN will compete with Nithin’s LIE and Rana’s Nene Raju Nene Mantri releasing on the same day of August 11.
