It's all now official! Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu the Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information and Broadcasting in the Modi ministry, has been roped in the Vice President candidate from NDA. The BJP president Amit Shah officially confirmed the news a couple of minutes ago.
Hailed from Chavatapalem of Nellore district, Venkaiah Naidu became the student leader at Andhra University in early 70s.
Venkaiah Naidu was elected as an MLA to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly twice from Udayagiri constituency in Nellore district in 1978 and 1983. He rose to become one of the most popular leaders of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh. From then on, he held many key positions on behalf of BJP.
Earlier, Telugu politician Neelam Sanjeevareddy became the President of India made Telugu people proud. And now, Venkaiah Naidu's Vice-Presidential candidature is bringing laurels to Telugu people.
Venkaiah Naidu, however, has to desert active politics and may announce the same shortly. He will tender his nomination as a vice president candidate tomorrow. Let's heartily wish for the grand victory of Venkaiah Naidu as a Vice President.
