Prince Mahesh's 'Srimanthudu' brought cheers to the hero and his fans with the blockbuster result in 2015. Yet the production team had to face troubled waters with plagiarism charges. A writer named Sharath Chandra lodged a complaint at Writers Association alleging that the makers of 'Srimathudu' copied  his novel 'Chachchentha Prema' published in Swathi Weekly in 2012. There after, the news was not seen in media. It was thought that the issue was settled on a peaceful note.

Here is a latest update on the issue. Sharat Chandra has approached Nampally court today. It's learnt that notices have been served to the hero, the director Koratala Siva and the producers. It remains to be seen what future coarse of action to be taken by the team 'Srimanthudu'.

Mahesh is currently working for an untitled Telugu-Tamil bilingual being directed by AR Murugadoss. Rakul Preet Singh plays romantic interest of Mahesh in the movie. Harris Jairaj composes the music of the movie. NV Prasad and Tagore Madhu are jointly producing the movie.
