Ever since the the state governments of AP and Telangana announced the tax exemption to Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Gauthamiputra Satakarni', a section of people have been opposing the governments arguing that huge budget was incurred on the project and the makers made it as commercial entertainer irrespective of its genre.

And now, it is being complained that the makers have broken certain rules which have specially been designed for tax exemption of films. According to a leading Telugu daily's report today, the AP government issued a G.O. on 9th of January which cited 75% tax exemption for GPS. However, according to tax exemption rule 83 of sub rule 3, notified ticket prices have to be slashed upto 25% in theaters. For an instance, a Rs.100 ticket has to be sold out to Rs.75. However, nowhere the ticket prices have been decreased.

And now, it is learnt that the state government received an appeal to announce 100% tax exemption for GPS without imposing any conditions as mentioned in the G.O. And the government is all set to do the favour to the filmmakers in tomorrow's cabinet meet.
