Natasimham Nandamuri BalaKrishna's 'Gauthamiputra Satakarni' is running with decent collections at the moment. Meanwhile, the film's team had to face the allegations that the story of the film was twisted.

A historian named Panduranga Reddy alleged that neither Satakarni was born at Kotilingala nor was he a Telugu man. He further claimed that Satakarni didn't rule entire India as shown in the film. Instead, his empire was confined to some parts of South India.

Krish, however, responded on the allegations made on GPS. "We got insufficient info on Satakarni. I read 5 books but there were 10 versions in them. Some people said Satakarni was not a Telugu man. I unnecessarily don't put discussion about it. Popular writers like Viswanadha Satyanarayana and Parabrahma Shastri also dealt about GPS. Were they wrong? Sr NTR garu wanted to do this project. Hadn't Satakarni hailed from Telugu land, NTR wouldn't have wished to do the movie," retorted Krish

Although, Krish's version is justified, some of the senior movie lovers raised their their doubts if late NTR really wished to work on this project or not. According to them, never ever had NTR expressed such wish in his interviews to the media. Whatever it is, at the end of the day, Krish had the last laugh as he received praises from every nook and corner for his sensible portrayal of GPS.
