He bounced back tremendously well with 'Gabbar Singh'. Was there any miracle happened in favour of him? If not, how come he rejuvenated? In fact, the period, which was considered to be his bad phase, was an epitome of his stamina at the box office and exposed he was the next best star after Megastar Chiranjeevi. Checkout the following flops of Pawan Kalyan and their statuses in comparison with other movies.
* Pawan Kalyan delivered an industry hit in the form of 'Khushi' in 2001. His craze touched new heights with that movie. However, he made historical blunder after 'Khushi'. Having taken a huge gap of two long years, he scored a disaster at the ticket windows with 'Johnny'. Even then, the movie proved his astonishing stamina doing the pre release business of Rs.25 crores those days. Moreover, pre release buzz on the film was phenomenal and ever remembered and it was just next to the all time best pre release hype of 'Muthamesthri'. The accessories of 'Johnny' were sold out in good numbers.
* Pawan Kalyan's 'Gudumba Shankar' was released in 2004. The movie had been declared the below average at the box office. Even then, it surpassed the full run share of another top hero's movie in just one week in Krishna area collecting Rs.1.50 crores, The top hero's movie was spent a bomb for making that had the backdrop of Madhura Meenakshi temple.
* Pawan Kalyan's 'Balu' was an average grosser. But the producer of the movie has not shown any interest in running the movie in more number of 50 days. That's why anti fans felt it was a flop movie.
* Pawan's 'Bangaram' was released in 2006 and got average status. A top hero's movie also got released in the same season and scored an industry hit. Even then, 'Bangaram', despite it had no romance between hero and heroines, could collect big shares in some C centers. In Anaparthi of East Godavari, the movie ran 50 days.
* Pawan Kalyan's 'Annavaram' was released in 2006 and got above average status at the box office. Interestingly, the movie collected a share of Rs.30 lakhs in a single theater of Kakinada whereas another young hero's sister sentiment film collected just Rs.10 lakhs in the same city which further betokened the range of Pawan Kalyan comparing with other heroes.
* 'Jalsa' was released in 2008 and stood as the biggest grosser of the year collecting Rs.30+ crores share then. Though Pawan Kalyan's range was elevated it was believed it had been not upto the mark for Pawan Kalyan's stature.
* 'Puli' a 2010s release, generated huge openings but finally ended up as a disaster
* Pawan Kalyan's 'Panja' and 'Teenmaar' were released in 2011. Both the movie could not do well at the box office.
* 'Teenmaar' was the only movie in Pawan Kalyan's career, whose openings were below par.
* To sum up, most of the above movies collected the shares in such a way which were more or less equal to the shares of the hit films of his generation's stars. As such his range and stamina can be well understood.
