'Lion', How Far Does It Roar?

The ferocious roars of Balakrishna aren't generating any tremors at BO. The film of 'Lion' has although completed it's first weekend but nothing astonishing is reported from trade circles. Except the advantageous summer season and curious Nandamuri Fans ticking at the ticket counters, adoration from common public is so sparse for 'Lion.' All in all, the highly expected flick has collected a share of Rs.12 Crores till now and it has lengthy span to swim on to reach the safe shores.

As we all know, 'Lion' suffered in pre release business times with many buyers showing less interest in betting huge money. Amidst many negotiations, producer Rudrapati Ramana Rao safely sold the theatrical rights of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at nearly Rs.32 Crores of which Rs.24 Crores are kept under MG. Now that film has just touched Rs.12 Crores mark, it is highly doubtful on how far buyers can recover their investments.

Some of the popular trade circles are forecasting a maximum of more 3 to 4 Crores potential in 'Lion' which means it could be even less than a 20 Crores product. It is still to be seen how much losses Ramana Rao and buyers associated are to incur with. Finally, 'Lion' can be called a dismal product from commercial aspect.
