Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner, late Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao's 'Keelugurram' was released on February 22, 1949 and scored an industry hit at the box office beating the collections of 'Gunasundari'. Anr played the role of the prince 'Vikramasimhudu' in this movie while Anjali Devi was seen in vamp's role as Bhuvanasundari.This was the first venture of Ghantasala as a music director. 'Keelugurram' was the first ever Telugu movie which got dubbed into Tamil. Titled as 'Mayakkudirai', the movie got super hit result in Tamil Nadu as well. Anr's birth anniversary falls on September 20. Cinejosh pays respects to this legend of tollywood.
