Malkajgiri Police register cases against Mohan Babu, Vishnu

The controversies surround the Telugu movie "Denikaina Ready" are refusing to die.

Following a petition filed by Brahmin organisations, a court at Malkajgiri on Monday asked the police to register a case against the film producer, director and actors of the movie. On court's directions, the Malkajgiri police registered a case under Sections 120B, 153A, 295A and 298 against film producer Mohan Babu, director Nageshwar Reddy, lead actor Vishnu and comedian Brahmanandam.

Stating that the movie has shown the Brahmin community in poor light, several Brahmin organisations have been demanding that the government impose a ban on the movie. On Monday, the Joint Action Committee of Brahmin organisations also met Home Minister P Sabitha Inidra Reddy in this regard. They requested her to stop the screening of the film in theatres across the State. The Committee members have threatened to launch statewide protests if the government fails to take any action.
