Kalki Is Eyeing To Recover One Third Of Investment From OTT Rights

Prabhas is currently the biggest stars in India. His failures too drawing attention and crowd to theatres resulting in considerate boxoffice numbers. Now, with his box office e success with his last film 'Salaar', prospects raised on his upcoming film 'Kalki 2898 Ad'. The film is already hugely anticipated film for its scale, budget and moreover it's epic casting. 

Kalki 2898 Ad, The sci-fi dystopian drama’s plot details are under wraps, but the cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone in lead roles along with several young Star heroes doing key guest roles makes 'Kalki' a red-hot film in trade as well as among fans and audience. 

OTT Rights Of Kalki

The OTT rights of Kalki 2898 Ad which is being made as the costliest film on Indian screen ever, were quoted for a staggering amount. Reportedly, the makers have planned everything to recover the budget on Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 Ad, and quoting 33% of the budget on the OTT is also part of the plan. Though the official number is not known, it is rumoured that the makers are demanding 200 crores for OTT rights.

If the makers successfully lock a deal for the amount mentioned above, they would recover 33.33% of the film’s total budget. Speaking about Prabhas’ last film, Salaar reportedly bagged 160 crores by selling OTT rights of South Indian languages to Netflix. Interestingly, the price of the Hindi version rights, which are with Disney+ Hotstar, is unknown. The film is scheduled to release on 9th May 2024. There have been reports about the postponement due to pending post-production work, and elections. An official announcement is awaited.
