TRS likely to sweep by-polls

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti is all set to sweep the bypolls, according to a survey conducted by Delhi-based organisations.

According to the report, Trs will win 10 seats which had fallen vacant due to the resignations of party MLAs in February. It will also win Vemulawada seat, which was held by TDP earlier as Ch Ramesh, who had resigned from the Assembly and TDP, had joined Trs.

The Bharatiya Janata Party may win the Nizamabad urban seat, the survey suggested. According to the survey, 60 per cent of voters were supporting Trs while 25 per cent were in favour of the Congress.

The TDP, which has a good base in Telangana in the last elections, seems to be losing its ground as the party did not  have a clear-cut stand on Telangana.
