Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Wednesday said that the TRS was in favour of giving 33% reservation to women in legislative bodies and announced that the party would support the Women Reservation Bill if it is introduced in Parliament by the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre.

Replying to various questions raised during a session at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at HICC, the minister reminded that the Telangana Assembly has already passed a unanimous resolution supporting the Women Reservation Bill and it was sent to the Centre. He admitted that the women representation in State Assembly was very less. When asked about absence of a woman minister in Telangana, he said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao would take a decision on inducting a woman into his cabinet at an appropriate time.

The minister also highlighted the T-Hub and said it has benefited Telangana State while giving a different identity to Hyderabad at the global level.
