Several activists of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee were injured after they were attacked allegedly by TRS workers who objected to Amara Veerula Spoorthi Yatra of Tjac Chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram in Kamareddy district on Friday. Meanwhile, police stopped Kodandaram's yatra and took him into custody.

Kodandaram was scheduled to visit Kamareddy to address a public meeting as part of fourth phase of Amara Veerula Spoorthi Yatra which he began today. However, Kodandaram was stopped at Kamareddy's border at Baswapur by some TRS activists. This led to an altercation between the TJAC and TRS workers. To prevent the situation from deteriorating further, police took Kodandaram into custody and shifted him to Biknoor police station. Meanwhile, the TJAC and TRS workers also clashed at public meeting venue where ruling party workers ransacked tents and chairs.

Speaking to media persons after his arrest, Kodandaram said he would continue his yatra despite obstacles being created by the police. Indirectly targeting the TRS Government, he alleged that his voice was being suppressed for exposing irregularities.
