Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari stressed the need for all universities to provide quality education.

Speaking after inaugurating the Employees Training and Development Centre at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University at Jubilee Hills on Wednesday, the Deputy CM said that universities should focus on improving their standards and introduce new courses that could benefit the students. Stating that BRAOU was the first to introduce distance education in the country, he said that job-oriented courses should be introduced by all universities to help the college dropouts. He advised the BRAOU and other universities to explore the options of having new courses in medical sector. Similarly, he said Diploma Courses could be started for courses like Veterinary Assistants and other sectors in agriculture.

Kadiyam said that Chief Minsiter K. Chandrashekar Rao was keen on development of universities in the State. He said that the State Government has allocated Rs. 420 crore in the State budget for universities. Of this, Rs. 20 crore has been allocated for BRAOU.

BRAOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Seetharama Rao, Registrar Prof. C. Venkaiah, Director Sudha Rani and other officials were also present on the occasion.
