Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya has expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would emerge victorious in Telangana State in 2019 Assembly elections.

Addressing the BJP's 37th Formation Day celebrations at party's State headquarters at Nampally on Thursday, Dattatreya said that the BJP would strengthen its organisation and network across Telangana State to ensure that it wins the next Assembly elections. He said that the BJP's main contender would be ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi and not the Congress party. With 382 MPs in Lok Sabha and 1382 MLAs in the country, BJP is the major political force in India with governments in 15 northern States. He said BJP workers would strive hard to bring the party to power in southern States, especially Telangana.

Dattatreya said that the BJP would strongly oppose 12% reservation for Muslims proposed to be given by TRS Government in Telangana State. He said giving reservation on the basis of religion was unconstitutional and the same has been rejected by different courts. He said that the BJP would launch a mass movement to force the TRS Government shelve its 12% Muslim quota plan.

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana BJP President Dr. K. Lakshman asked the party workers to conduct door-to-door campaign to apprise the people about various welfare schemes being implemented by the Modi Government.

BJP National General Muralidhar Rao, BJP legislators and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
