Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao said that two lakh double bed houses for the poor, as promised, would be constructed in the coming financial year 2017-18. Stating that the construction was already on for nearly 30,000 houses, he said that he would not seek votes if he fails to fulfill the promise.

The Chief Minister admitted that there was no provision in the budget for the double bed room houses. However, he said resources would be arranged from different sources. He said one lakh double bed room houses would be constructed in Hyderabad.

Kcr was giving reply to the clarifications raised by Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy, BJP floor leader G. Kishan Reddy, TDP MLA  R. Krishnaiah and CPM member Sunnam Rajaiah and others. He said that the flagship programme of providing safe drinking water to each and every house was under progress and hoped that the entire scheme would be completed in the coming financial year.  He said the charges on drinking water supplied through Mission Bhagiratha would be collected only after completing the scheme. 

Similarly, the Chief Minister said that the construction of irrigation projects has been going on with the aim to provide irrigation water to one crore acres of land. He said that once the farmers get sufficient irrigation water to their agriculture land, the charges on power would be imposed and there would be no free power.

The Chief Minister said that orders have been issued for the conduct of separate DSC for the recruitment of Urdu teachers.  He said that he has already signed the orders and forwarded the same to the Education Department for further action. With regard to providing mid day meal scheme for the students of junior and degree colleges, the Chief Minister said a decision in this regard has already been taken and meals would be provided from the coming academic year. He also said that the government would also increase the mess charges of students. 

Kcr reiterated that the Fee Reimbursement and Scholarship dues would be cleared by March 31 including the current year dues. He said Rs. 2,300 crores have already been released.

The Chief Minister said that already the government has constituted a legislature committee headed by MLA Baji Reddy Govardhan Reddy on the issue of protection the Wakf properties. He appealed to the members to approach the committee if they have any complaints, grievances or suggestions. He said that the Commissions for Minorities, SCs, and STs would be constituted soon.
