The Congress party on Tuesday questioned Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao if he would lead the protest against the demonetisation policy in the wake of hardships to people even after completion of 50 days of demonetization.

Speaking to media persons at the media point on Assembly premises, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy asked as to why the Chief Minister was not raising voice against demonetisation policy and reminded KCR of his announcement in the Assembly that he would protest against the note ban if the people continue to face inconvenience after completion of 50 days as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Farmers and the poor are facing severe hardships and KCR is least bothered about the people’s plight. He termed the Centre’s note ban move as illogical decision and challenged the Chief Minister if he would lead the protest against the note ban. The Congress would support the CM if he protests against note ban policy, he added.

The Congress leader said that the Centre failed to achieve its purpose of wiping corruption and black money through note ban as promised. He said that the complete economy of the country was pushed into crisis due to Modi’s demonetization policy. He also questioned the state government asking it as to what steps did the TRS government initiate to tackle cash shortage in the state. He said that the pensioners and beneficiaries of various welfare schemes are not getting their benefits due to note ban.
