Leader of Opposition in AP and YSRC Chief Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday met Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan and urged him to intervene to ease out the situation arising out of demonetization of high value currency notes.

Speaking to media persons after meeting the Governor along with party delegation, Jagan said that the common people were facing severe hardships due to cash shortage. He said that the farmers and daily wage earners have been facing severe hardships due to demonetization.  He said that the state did not get the new currency as per its share. Jagan said that as per the population ratio the state, AP should get nearly Rs.24,000 crore but the Centre supplied just  Rs.14,740 crore.

Jagan said that the state government failed in tackling the situation and urged the Governor to use his good office and ask the Centre to take steps to ease out the difficulties of the common people.

Reacting to the Opposition charges of irregularities in awarding contracts in the project, KTR said that the Opposition should produce proofs of the same. He alleged that the Congress members were indulging in mudslinging. He warned that the government would file defamation cases against those indulging in leveling baseless allegations of irregularities against the TRS Government.
