Hyderabad, Jan 15: A Police Case has been booked against Ms Kavitha, the president of the Telangana Jana Jagruthi and daughter of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) founder president, Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), for making certain provocative remarks on the eve of the release of the Telugu film Adurs.Though the Banjara Hills police in the city booked the case suo motto on January 12 itself, the matter was kept as a closely guarded secret.

However, it came to light on Friday.The Banjara Hills police, when contacted, confirmed that the case has been booked against Ms Kavitha and said that the case was registered under Sections 505/1, 506 and 7/1, all point towards making statements provoking the public on certain issues.The police, however, said that no arrests have been made till now. “We are going through the video tapes of Ms Kavitha’s remarks on Adurs film. Only after completion of the process, necessary action will be initiated,” the police stated.

The police are understood to have requested the news channels to provide the video footage of the media conference of Ms Kavitha held on the eve of the release of the film and also after the movie had hit the screens.It may be recalled that KCR’s daughter had given a call to the TRS activists to obstruct the screening of the film in the Telangana region as it is made by the producers who are arguing of united Andhra Pradesh.
