Govt committed to construct Mallannasagar project: Talasani

Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the State Government was committed to construct Mallanna Sagar project at any cost as it would solve irrigation issues to an extent.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Srinivas Yadav lashed out at the opposition for trying to stall the irrigation project and warned that those opposing development would be put behind bars. Mallanna Sagar is in the interests of the state and the Opposition is unnecessarily creating hurdles in the project, the Opposition is anti-development, he remarked.

The government was offering better compensation through GO 123 or the Land Acquisition Act 2013 and the farmers can choose whatever compensation they wanted, the minister added.

The Chief Minister had already made a PowerPoint presentation on irrigation projects and gave clarity on the projects. The opposition was only trying to malign the government image by provoking the farmers, Srinivas Yadav added.
