Speaking to reporters, party state secretary T Veerabhadram lashed out at the TRS government that it was playing with the lives of farmers and poor in the name of constructing Mallannasagar Project. He said that on one hand some ministers were speaking in a compromising tone with the farmers and oustees of the project saying that they can choose between Land Acquisition Act 2013 and GO 123 for compensation and on the other hand Minister Harish Rao was threatening that the lands would be acquired for the projects at any cost. He said that the party would tour the state and would expose the government’s intentions which were anti farmers and would be detrimental to the state itself.

The CPM Secretary said that the party would organize a massive protest along with the project oustees on July 26 at Indra Park against the government’s indifferent attitude towards the project oustees.  He said that the party national leader Brinda Karat would participate in the protest meet.

Veerabhadram said that the party’s three day plenary meeting would begin on August 16 at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad which would be attended by party national general secretary Sitaram Yechury.
