Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has promised to eradicate corruption from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

Addressing a massive public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Saturday evening, the Chief Minister said if TRS wins GHMC elections, then it would ensure that corruption is completely weeded out from the corporation. He said no one would have to pay a single rupee as bribe to get building permission. He said that the party aims to develop Hyderabad like Dallas.

Kcr recalled the struggle and sacrifices behind the formation of Telangana State. He said that the then UPA Government at the Centre had asked him in 2006 to soften his stand on status of Hyderabad for early formation of Telangana. However, he said he had refused to compromise on Hyderabad and said it would remain the capital of Telangana. He said this delayed the statehood for eight years.

The Chief Minister claimed that the TRS Government fulfilled about 190 promises during the last 18 months. He said that the TRS Government has proved all fears wrong on the law and order situation in Hyderabad after Telangana formation and everyone has been living in the city peacefully. He alleged that the previous Congress and TDP regimes did not develop Hyderabad. He also ridiculed Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya's claim that Central Government was funding 2BHK houses. He said that the double-bedroom housing scheme was unique in the country and Centre has no such scheme to fund it.

Kcr advised his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu to focus on development of cities in his own State. He said Naidu should visit Hyderabad once in a fortnight to check accounts of his company Heritage. Stating that Naidu has no business in Hyderabad, he claimed that even Naidu's wife Bhuvaneshwari has promised to vote for TRS in GHMC elections.

The Chief Minister said only TRS was having a clear vision on the development of Hyderabad and therefore, people should vote for it in the GHMC elections.
