KTR advises BJP not to seek vote on religion basis

Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Saturday advised Bharatiya Janata Party to restrain from seeking votes in the name of religion during GHMC elections.

KTR alleged that that the BJP had no face value to seek votes from the people as the State BJP leaders have failed to get any projects or funds for Telangana State from their party's government at the Centre. Therefore, he said that the BJP was trying to win the GHMC elections on the basis of polarisation.

He claimed that the TRS would win 100 seats in the GHMC elections and would capture the Mayor's post. He said that the people have already rejected Congress, BJP and TDP and they have no space in Telangana State. He said these parties are contesting the GHMC elections only to register their presence.

KTR clarified that the TRS has no alliance with the MIM and the ruling party would seek votes on the basis of its performance during the last 18 months.
