TRS MP K Kavitha has strongly criticised the tour of AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to Anantapuram of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons in Khammam, Kavitha said that the Congress party completely neglected the farmers during its 10-year rule in the State and at the Centre. However, Rahul Gandhi has been speaking about farmers after losing the power in last elections. She said Rahul Gandhi's visit to the families of farmers who committed suicide was aimed at drawing political mileage. She said highest number of farmers committed suicide during Congress rule from 2004 to 2014.

Kavitha advised Rahul Gandhi to take a holy dip in Godavari River to clean his party from the sins it committed towards farming community. She said that the Congress party has no moral right to speak about farmers' welfare and its leaders have been shedding crocodile tears.
