Girls have outperformed boys in the First Year Intermediate Public Examination 2015 of Telangana State whose results were announced here on Wednesday. While 61.68 per cent girls passed the exam, only 49.60 per cent boys cleared the Inter First Year.

The girls maintained their dominance in the Vocational with a pass percentage of 53.56 per cent compared to boys' pass percentage of 37.42.

The results were announced by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari at the BIE office at Nampally.

The Minister informed that 55.62 per cent of 431,363 candidates have passed the Inter First Year exams. Similarly, of 35,085 Vocational candidates, 43.43 per cent cleared the exams. As many as 26.55 % candidates have secured more than 75 per cent marks of A Grade, while 16.52% got B Grade with 60-75 per cent marks. A total of 8.59% got C Grade and 3.95% got D Grade.

While as many as 50 candidates in General category and 14 candidates in Vocational were booked for malpractice, the results of six candidates in General category have been with held.

In General category, Ranga Reddy district stood on top with 71 per cent followed by Hyderabad (59), Khammam (56), Adilabad (53) and Warangal (52). Nalgonda district had the lowest passing percentage of 43. In Vocational too, Ranga Reddy district was on top with pass percentage of 56 and Nizambad and Warangal districts had the lower pass percentage of 35.

The Deputy CM informed that the passing percentage has improved compared to previous years. As compared to pass percentage of 50.24% in 2013 and 52.65% in 2014, the passing percentage in General Category in 2015 was 55.62%.

The Marks Registers of all Colleges would be dispatched to the Regional Inspection Officers concerned within two days. The Principals of the colleges have to collect them from RIOs immediately and display in their colleges. The Principals can collect Memoranda of Marks from the RIOs on April 26 and see that they are given to the candidates at the earliest.

The discrepancies if any, found in the Memorandum of Marks should be referred to the Board through concerned Principals before May 22. Applications received after this date will not be entertained.

The last date for payment of examination fee for Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations, May/June 2015 is May 1. There is no provision for payment of examination fee with penalty after the due date.

The Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examinations, May/June 2013 will be held from May 25.
