Telangana's economy will witness a boom, says KTR

Information Technology Minister K Tarakarama Rao has expressed confidence that the economy of Telangana State would witness a boom due to the comprehensive planning and effective implementation of development schemes of State Government.

Addressing the golden jubilee celebrations of Hyderabad Management Association here, KTR informed that the government was equally focusing on welfare and development. He said 100 LPCDs would be set up in rural areas while 150 LPCD were being provided in Urban areas for drinking water supply at a cost of Rs 25,000 crore. He said that the government plans to increase the forest cover from present 25% to 33% in the next five years by planting 230 crore saplings. He said almost 39% of areas in Telangana is urban. He said that the government would ensure irrigation of about 75 lakh acres of land and was committed to provide 24-hour power supply in the next three years.

KTR also said Hyderabad was nearly 300 per cent better than Bangalore in terms of infrastructure. Similarly, the cost of establishment in Hyderabad is almost half. Therefore, he said investors preferred Hyderabad over other cities due to its cosmopolitan nature and low cost of living.

The Times of India's Resident Editor Kingshuk Nag, Apollo Hospitals Joint MD Sangeetha Reddy and others also participated in the launching of year-old golden celebrations which would continue from September 14 to June 15, 2015.
